Sunday, July 4, 2010

But I am.
I love work, I love having a job, I enjoy working for the money I make.
I don't like how I'm working every weekend this month from 4pm to about 2am.
Good bye summer and good bye ever doing anything fun on the weekends.
That sucks.
I'm going to end up seeing a lot of movies by myself on Monday mornings
or some bullshit like that.

Ah well.

We Are the Champions My Friend

So in my long days of doing a bunch of nothing
Joel hooked up the PS2 for me and we decided to play
Champions: Retturn to Arms.
I really really like it.
It's like Baulder's Gate but with less hype.
Also it's the second one. The first one is called
Champions of Norrath
which I've heard is a lot better with the plot.
I haven't gone very far into on my own
but Joel and I have done two player mode together
and we own. Although we bicker about who gets the loot
and who gets the gold. We've restarted the two player once and
we may be doing it for a second time.
First time I was a wood elf ranger and he was a high elf cleric.
Now I'm a Human Barbarian and he's a wood elf ranger.
We're gonna change again so that I'm a wizard and he's a berzerker.
Hopefully that'll be the one we stick with!

Rollercoaster Tycoon

Wednesday, May 26, 2010

I used to play this game as a child and I absolutely loved it. I usually did what most kids do with games and not really play it, just get a bunch of money and then make pretty parks.

I saw it at my cousins and even shouted "I HAVEN'T PLAYED THIS SINCE I WAS LIKE... NINE OR SOMETHING." I asked my cousin if I could borrow it and she didn't care so I took it. As soon as I got back to my dorm I installed it and I had that nostalgic feeling as the theme park noises played.

Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 came out in 2003 and technology has progressed so much since then that my high powered Dell has a hard time running this game because it's so behind the times.

WORTH IT THOUGH. COMPLETELY WORTH IT.

It's really similar to the Sims where you just place things and let the world people do what they will. Big time waster, but it starts getting really addicting and competitive. At least to me. I want my park to be the best. >:[ And the costumers I really hate. Sometimes i get a glitch where they all start walking in the same 4 squares and then my park ratings drop because they feel it's to crowded. No matter what I've done so far they just latch on to another 4 squares and complain again. Or they have to go to the bathroom.

THERE ARE 16BATHROOMS IN THE WHOLE PARK. FIND ONE AND QUIT COMPLAINING.

Either way, awesome game. Highly recommend it.

I KNEW IT.

I KNEW IT.

Forza

Weekend
So that guy right there is my wonderful boyfriend Joel~ Yes, old picture is old [Halloween '09].

That man right there really likes cars and a game he has been recently attached to is Forza Motorsport 3 which is pretty freaking neat.

The best way I could describe it is realistic. With my love of arcade racing games, I really suck at this game. Usually in the arcade games you hit the gas and don't bother with slowing down, but the more I kept playing Forza, as well as Joel laughing and yelling at me, I realized I need to use something called the brake.

The cars can crash, but not the normal they hit a wall and you keep going. The car crashes and stuff actually breaks and the car stops working right and it leans to the left or it doesn't go as fast, etc etc. Point is that this game is pretty realistically awesome. It has all real cars, it's not one of those racing games where the car doesn't exist, and each rated on a scale of 100 - 999 on overall performance.

Over the weekend Joel and I were playing and man I sucked. He was laughing so hard at me and yelling at me about how there are breaks on the car and that I should use them. I stopped playing of course because he kept commenting, hahaha, but this coming weekend I'm going to try and take a crack at it one more time. He'll have to take me under his wing to teach me the way of simulated driving.

My roommate Ginny has finally come to the dark side and has started playing Pokemon Leaf Green on her Droid. It isn't her first pokemon game, but I need to find more people around me who have played so I can trade.

I WANT THEM ALL.

I've also become really lazy in playing. I created my awesome team and I can defeat the Elite Five like it's nothing,so training my new team has been taking me forever. Sometimes I forget I'm playing and I'll walk away from it. Check back later and me like ACK, I forgot you were on!

I'm gonna try and keep up with it though. I really like pokemon, I just need more time to play it!

Hair Cut

Thursday.
Ugh, what a day. SO I had 60$ and I had planned to go to the Hair Cuttery to trim up my hair. Everyone else was doing it and I figured it was about time since my bangs were ruthlessly trying to keep me in the dark all the time.

Now I always go there [to the Hair Cuttery] and usually my hair cut with styling is only 25$ with tip or a little more or less. Either way, I had no intention of spending more than 30$. The other 30$ I was going to use to see a friend from high school and we were going to have lunch.
I don't go to my normal place because I was at my Dad's in the south loop area. I go in, wait for an hour and finally get my name called to have my hair done, she takes THREE HOURS to wash, straighten and cut my hair. She stops constantly to talk to the girl next to her and then stops again to yell at her child. I was getting really annoyed, but was looking forward to the end product. I ask her to cut everything in front of my ears short and i want it to feather against my face. I also wanted my bangs out of my eyes so they don't kill me. She does none of that and then feathers it away from my face.

I was so annoyed but I had spent so long in the chair that i just wanted to go, I didn't care at that point. So she finishes up and she brings me over to the cash register and she tells me it's 52$.

"What?"
"That'll be 52$."
"What? Why? Why is that 52$?"

And I guess I didn't know, but getting my hair washed is 12$, the cut is 20$, having it straightened is another 20$. I. WAS. FURIOUS. I wanted to make holes in walls with my fist. She robbed me.

BUT of course, because I'm passive and just wanted to leave, I gave her the blood money and stormed out then complained to my absolutely wonderful boyfriend about how he needed to tell me my hair was pretty when I saw him because I paid to much for it and I felt bad, hahaha~ But he said he really liked it for real even though I don't think it looks any different. I'm going to take my own scissors to my hair later on today.

Wish me luck!
I also hung out with KEISHA, YEY. We went and saw The Losers. It was entertaining, but I'm not giving it any gold stars. Maybe Bronze... But she and I had a wonderful time, talked about life and boys and all those things girls talk about. We had a girl date, hahaha~ I have a photo, but I'm feeling lazy and don't want to upload my camera photos, but it'll happen eventually.

I'm very excited about the SG event in June! I can't wait!

EDIT
Yeah... cut my hair.
Wasn't a good idea when I thought about it and wasn't a good idea when I started it.

Besides that he is just sexy as hell,
Prince of Persia

I'm excited, are you?

Although I wish it was rated R and had lots of killing and blood,
it'll probably be mediocre with cheesy lines and a sappy predictable love plot.
I'm still going to go see it. I hope it's fun!

Oh, and giving props to this chick

紅い糸

Tuesday, May 4, 2010

It's called Akai Ito (Red Thread).

It's a Japanese drama about a girl and a boy
who love each other and the trials they must face.

At first I thought it was a little silly, really corny opening with
a little boy bumping into a little girl and you realize
they're meant to be together for forever, she gives him some chocolate, blah blah blah
The story starts back up a few minutes later when the girl is 15
and her trials to keep this love in her life.

Very sterotypical story line in that they want to be together but they can't
and for a second I was going to turn it off, but then it starts to get crazy deep really fast.
A kids mother is on drugs and this one girl commits suicide cause another girl
lies to her, crazy stuff! crazy stuff I tell you.

But I'm on episode 7 and so far it is amazing.
I highly suggest you watch it~
Look it up, download it. It's sweet.

Stray Cats!

Thursday, April 29, 2010

As you know, my laptop is entirely in Japanese now
and I wanted to know if my internet was too.
Poopy Firefox doesn't support Asian characters
so Firefox is in English, buuuuuut I can access Japanese
websites. If I could before I didn't know... hahaha, anyway...
My test word was cats, of course, and I was all excited
when I found a bunch of Japanese websites based off cats.
My favorite one I want to show you all is this website
where this girl/boy goes around and takes pictures of
stray cats in Japan.

http://www.cats-blog.com/

They are sooo adorable.
I looked through most of them and
I had to keep myself from going
"daaawwwwww" all the time.
The site isn't that hard to understand,
so if you try and navigate it, don't be to worried.

They are the cleanest stray cats you'll ever see

Japanese Computer?

Monday, April 26, 2010
My roommate Ginny (as seen on left) managed to get super drunk this weekend with her brothers and forgot to write her German midterm essay which was due... today. Sunday night she comes and tells me and instead of staying up all night and writing it, she decided to go to sleep and wake up at the crack of dawn to write it then. So from 5.30am to about 10.30am she was completely immersed in German and writing that essay. When I got back from my own classes she was huddled up on the floor in her usual odd position searching for how to turn her computer completely German. She tinkered and I nosed in every now and then to see if it worked.

Turns out that for both Vista and Windows 7 to change the language on the computer you have to buy some separate packs or something or other and we both were having no part of it. She kept looking though and I cheered her on. After about 15minutes of silence she whispers that she put a link on my facebook wall and that she found a program that would change her computer to German at no cost. She told me that I should change my computer to Japanese, but that her's would just be the test run to see if the program worked.

It did!

Everything was in German! The welcome screen, the start menu, everything. So with her enthusiasm, I decided to change my computer to Japanese. Besides, the best way to learn it is if you're constantly immersed in it, no?

Here is the link if anyone wants it: http://www.froggie.sk/
There is a way to change it back if you don't like it, so don't freak if it gets overwhelming. I cannot claim anything for it's safety, but so far my computer is amazing and EVERYTHING is in Japanese. I figured I might as well since i already changed my iPod to Japanese and my facebook to Japanese, why not my laptop?

It is sooooo cool. I am learning kanji left and right, it's blowing my mind. It's a nice feeling to know that if anyone tries to nose into my computer they wouldn't be able to read anything, hahaha~ Although I think it'd piss my Dad or my boyfriend off if they ever had to use it... Ah well~

Pokemon Diamond

Tuesday, April 20, 2010
Last time I posted I was neck deep in Ninja Town, but now I am at the final puzzle and it is so hard I finally just had to set it down. I could not make it past the first wave and it was killing me! I'd spend hours placing and replacing my little ninjas, but to no avail. So before I broke my friends game I had to just set it down. After I set down Ninja Town, my gaming life grew a little boring. It was the weekend after St.Patrick's day and the brand spanking new HEART GOLD AND SOUL SILVER CAME OUT.

Yeah... who cares right? I definitely didn't. I had never played a pokemon game in my life and every time my group of friends found out, the look of repulse and pity would pass over their faces. "Where di your child hood go?" It went to Dragonball Z and World of Warcraft, that's where! But I grew curious and when we went to go get my friends pre ordered HEART GOLD AND SOUL SILVER I decided I would buy Pokemon Diamond. Started playing it that night and since then haven't stopped.

I don't know what the big deal is though. It is the ultimate time wasting game like The Sims. There is no end to it. After you finish the main story line and the extra little side story lines, all you do is catch pokemon. It's a never ending game because then the makers come out with another game and MORE pokemon and little kids and college students try not to crap themselves as they wait in line to find out what new start pokemon there will be.

But I digress. I am having so much fun playing this game. I want to catch them all!
Well... only the cute or cool looking ones...
My main party currently consists of
Levels 70, 60, 59, 63, and 63 respectively.

I've been playing for 125hours and I know my
pokemon lvls are rather sad, but give me a break...

I bet you're wondering, where is her sixth pokemon?
Well, I have yet to decide which pokemon is to be my sixth. I defeated the Elite Four with those and a Medichamp - lvl 59, but I'm training a bunch of pokemon I really like, so it may change.

Also, The elite Four should be called the ELITE FIVE. After I defeated the Elite Four I was jumping off the walls, i was so excited, but then the fourth leader was like
"Oh! By the way! You have to defeat the champion! Good luck!"
...
...
...
...
And I nearly pooped myself.
I was so mad because half my pokemon were dead and I didn't know when I started fighting the gym leaders I couldn't go ba ck and it was just a mess. I ended up dying before the Champion could pull out her second pokemon so I went back and retrained all my pokemon. I eventually beat them and boy did it feel good.

Then my quest for a Dragonair and a Feebas (so I can train it myself to get a Milotic) started.
I will get these!

Point is that so far I am really liking Pokemon and over the summer I'm going to have to trade my boyfriend for his DSlite so I can play the gameboy pokemon games.

Before I stop talking about pokemon, I just want to say that I HATE GOLBAT. With a passion. It's everywhere, constantly laughing at me. Oh? Did you need to go through this cave? SORRY. GOLBAT HERE. BWAHAHA!

It's the bloody Bidoof of the sky.

I hate it...
Crobat is pretty cool though...

Enough of Pokemon.
Over the summer I am happily moving with my boyfriend in Michigan~ Although I will not be able to go to as many Sugar Gamer events as I'd like to - even now it's rather difficult - I will try and be there as often as I can~ I'm starting my job search now, but I jsut wanted to share because although nervous I am, I am very excited!

I am transferring to a college in Chicago next year, either Loyola or Roosevelt. Loyola has been my dream school since the beginning of time. I was birthed and Loyola called out to me. Anyway~ I am torn on either going to Loyola or going to Roosevelt because if my mother gets her job at Roosevelt - I'd get to go there for free... or half off or something, but it would be VERY easy to pay for. Loyola on the other hand has more of what I'm looking for, but costs a bloody 42k.
I'll have to ponder it more if my mother gets the job.

Hopefully I'll update this more often now that my college classes aren't tying to destroy me.

Tata for now though

I'm Late As Usual...

Monday, March 1, 2010
So I know it has been nearly a month since I touched this and if it makes any one feel better- I'm working really hard! Two more weeks before this trimester is over and then Spring Break!

But lets get down to business. (To defeat the huns!)

So I managed to FINALLY finish Final Fantasy Tactics A2 for my DSi and I wanted to cry when it was over. I can officially die happy. However, I am now hooked on the game Ninja Town for the DS.

It's a simple game where the enemies come through and you have only certain spots where you can place you ninjas and you have to try and kill all the enemies before they reach their destination.

But these ninjas have to be the cutest thing in existance! I mean, look at them! So cute~!

The evil Mr.Demon is trying to steal the ninja's cookie recipe and it is your duty as the Elder Ninja to defeat him! The story is adorable and i would recommend this to any one who doesn't get bored of watching cute things, but it does tend to get a little repetitive and not very engaging. Horribly fun as a time waster though.

Sadly, that is all for today and hopefully I'll be able to get around to do this more often.

First Post!

Sunday, January 24, 2010
As of late, I have been quite busy with work and college, and the free time I have been able to squeen out have been spent playing one of my favorite games in the world on my DSi.

First, let me tell you a story. A long while ago, say, the 7th grade, I had a DS and I played the first Final Fantasy Tactics. I had fallen in love. Leveling up characters, completing quests at my leisure, creating the most powerful clan in the world, I could not pull myself away. At one point, I was stuck at the final battle, but I was determined to complete it.

HOWEVER. One day I left it at my fathers house over the weekend. I went through a little withdrawal, but I knew I would get it back that Monday. Excited, I ran to my Dad's and into my room to find it was not there. Where could my DS have gone? Not to mention my game! My father comes into my room and asks me, "Hey, Would you like a PSP?"
"Uhh... sure.... but I'd like to finish the game on my DS first."
"Oh, well, I already traded that in, so here is your new PSP!"

I accepted the gift with shaky hands and with a thank you, I thought my heart was going to explode. That horrible feeling of knowing you were about to finish a game to just have it ripped out of your grasp right before the final boss. Overall, at that moment it became my life goal to get my DS back and finish Final Fantasy Tactics.

My PSP grew a thick layer of dust over the summer and finally, after 2 years of never playing it, I traded it in for 120$ of Game Stop credit. When I told my Father, he vowed to never buy me anything again even after I explained to him my dilemma.

I spent my Game Stop credits on DeadSpace - which my laptop is not capable of playing... - and the last World of Warcraft Expansion - WHICH WAS AWESOME.

Over the years, every time my Father asked what I wanted for a Holiday I always asked for a DS. Which I never got. But my theory is that no matter how many times I ask, he cannot say no every single time. That's how he finally let me start driving his car. HA!

Finally as a graduation gift, my Father finally got me a Black DSi. I thought I was going to poop myself with joy. I spent what was left of my graduation money getting Final fantasy Tactics A2 and life was good. With 156hours to my name, Final Fantasy Tactics A2 had taken over my life. Every moment I had free would be spent questing for items and completing the 250+ quests with perfection. I was obsessed. Even during some of my lectures, I would secretly be playing under the desk. I was determined to finish.

Sadly, I accidentally finished the game without completing all the quests, so now it sits on my desk with a sad disappointed feeling lingering about it.
I finally finished Final Fantasy Tactics though, and my life has a slight feeling of accomplishment.

Until next story time,
